So Here’s the Plan

As I confessed in yesterday’s post I didn’t exactly have the healthiest weekend and have a pesky numb leg. So workouts were skipped and pizza was eaten and copious amounts of wine were consumed. Eating has been back on track but I still have not worked out. My leg is more tingly today so I am hoping it is back to normal by the end of the day.

So with everything mentioned above skipping out on actually finishing 120 days of Les Mills Pump is not something that I want to do. So skipping back to when I had the junk food and started missing workouts is the right thing to do. So back to Day 25 for this chick. Getting rehydrated is number one on the list. There was definitely more wine than water consumed over the weekend, my body is not happy about it. I feel drier than the Sahara Desert! Food is back on track so there are no worries there and later on a workout will be attempted. If my balance and stance is still off due to the numb leg then I will stop and start Day 25 again. This is the longest the Fibromyalgia has left my leg numb. I think it may be time to make an appointment and get checked out. My creaky knee is worse so that needs to be looked at too as well as the fact that it is the time of year that I should start taking meds for my Raynaud’s Syndrome.

So I am off to eat a healthy lunch, drink more water and call the doctor’s office.

Day 24 of 120

lmp day 24

So there are 96 days left, it really sounds like a long way to go but these first 24 days just flew by. Felling like I will be done in no time at all.

Today’s scheduled workout was once again Pump and Burn. Honestly this one is getting boring because it has to be done so often. I understand why though. I need to get comfortable with the moves and build up some strength before it moves on to other workouts. Once Phase 2 starts things really start mixing up more so it will not be so repetitive. Had a good workout today but honestly I am surprised I got it in. I go in today for a HSG (hysterosalpingogram) test. I really, really, reeeelly don’t want to go. But it is needed so I will do it. Basically they are checking to see if the Essure implants took. Hopefully the scar tissue built up properly and I am good to go! Of course I spent too much time googling the test and asking people how theirs went. Not a good idea, one of the downsides of the internet. It helps feed paranoia. Basically the consensus is that it hurts like a bitch one the dye hits the blockage. So this morning I have been trying to get everything done that needs to be done today because the doctor said after the test I have to lay around for the day. If I move about too much apparently the post-procedure cramping can get pretty bad. of course because I will be stuck resting for a day my oldest is home from school sick. That’s just the way things work around here. If it isn’t one thing… also trying to keep Mr Baby up and skip the early morning nap so he can nap just before I have to go in and is awake for when Grandma is here to babysit. She is headed back to AZ for the cold season so this is basically the second to last time she will get to see the kids before she leaves next week. BTW, I can’t wait until I am at the age where I can just migrate for the winter.

Yesterday I didn’t get much done around the house so I have to play catch up this morning. It is shocking sometimes how messy a house can get just by skipping one day of doing things. So I better get on it! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Day 22 of 120 Days of Les Mills Pump Finished

lmp day 22
8 days until weigh in and 98 days until I am thorough Les Mills Pump and Les Mills Pump Ultimate Cross Training Deluxe. Wow, that is a mouthful to say! Once I am completed I think I am going to treat myself to Les Mills Combat. After looking into most things offered on Beachbody this one appeals to me most right now and is not as extreme as lets say Insanity. Lord knows that lots of people make it through Insanity and even harder stuff like Crossfit but being disabled I just don’t see those things in my future. Don’t take it as me saying the workouts are easy, they are quite a challenge and I am sure that Combat will be tougher than Pump and UCT. But more than likely easier to modify on my “bad” days. Plus I just really like Les Mills classes. I wish they were still offered in my area. My doctor already say no way to the Crossfit, and to other things so I follow the rules. Personally I am not a doctor so I just listen and follow the rules.

Today’s workout was Pump and Burn. Got threw it with no changes in the weight I was pushing today. I tried to up it for the Legs and Back Track but had to readjust down to my original weight. Maybe next week?? Or even next time?? We shall see!

Tomorrow is a rest day but a friend wants to come over and do something. So I am going to go really low impact. Maybe yoga and walking or low impact aerobics? Nothing crazy so I can recover a bit.

Well, dinner is just about done. Roast beef, roasted carrots & onions and brown rice / veggie pilaf. Yum!

Day 21 In the Bag

lmp day 21

I am sure you figured it out by the title that today was day 21. So there are 99 days left to go and 9 days until I weigh and measure in. Kind of feeling torn about that, I am excited to see how I have progressed but am a little scared that I haven’t. There should be no way that I have not made any progress. But weigh ins always give me a bit of anxiety. That is why I choose to do it monthly instead of weekly.

Today’s scheduled workout was Hard Core Abs along with a 45 minute walk. I still feel like I am struggling with form with those plank to push-up thingies but I am at least conscious of my mistakes so it will be easier to work my way to getting them down. As far as the 45 minute walk i choose to do something else. It seems I always choose to do something else. The thought of a 45 minute walk kind of bores me and seems unchallenging. The 45 minute walk was replaced with a 5 milk walk video. It is a combination of walking, jogging, aerobics and resistance band training. Even during the resistance bend miles you are still moving. I did the entire 5 miles plus warm up and cool down so it equaled out to 75 minutes of cardio. Whew! I am tired now! It was a fun video. It was the Leslie Sansone: Walk at Home – 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. Quite an enjoyable workout! The 75 minutes goes shockingly fast.

As far as food intake that is still going pretty well. I went a little over calorie wise today due to too many nuts but it wasn’t junk food so no need to feel guilty or beat myself up. It was worth it. I wanted a brownie and ate those instead. Good trade-off I think 🙂

20 Down, 100 to Go

lmp day 20

Today was day 20 of Les Mills pump. Day 19 was a rest day so I didn’t workout. Today’s workout was Pump and Burn. all in all I was pleased with today’s workout. During the ab track I was able to double my weight. Hoping that next time I can double it for the legs and back track.

Eating clean has been going really well. Having a terrible hard week as far as temptation goes. Not even thinking I walked by a pack of cookies this morning, grabbed one and took a bite. Immediately realized what I had done and threw the cookie out without taking another bite. a slip up yes, but I remedies the problem with a quick trip to the trash can. I am thinking I really need to make a batch of clean cookies!

Day 18 of 120 FINITO!

lmp day 18

Actually I finished the workout a couple of hours ago, been working on homework with Emma since. I would have never thought that in the Second Grade a child would get as much homework as she does. It is crazy!!

This afternoon while Ian napped I went to lunch with my Mother-In-Law. It is always nice to get a chance to catch up. Also had to break down Ian’s schedule. Her and my FIL are postponing their trip back to their winter home to watch the kids while I am fulfilling my Matron of Honor Duties. This will be the first time anyone other than myself or my husband has had Ian overnight. CRAZY! A friend of mine is coming to stay at the house to watch my zoo. She is bringing her dog so Tico should have a blast. he loves little dogs. Anyhow back to lunch, even though we were out I ate healthy, a steak, salad and sweet potato (sans the sugar) and washed it down with some lemon water. She wanted Olive garden but was nice enough to not take me to the sweet, sweet land of cream sauces, white pasta and delicious breadsticks as far as the eye can see. Good thing too given my hormones are a raging I would’ve given in and eaten all the breadsticks in the place! I love me some Olive Garden breadsticks!

Yep, this would have been me!

Today’s scheduled workout was a combination of Hard Core Abs and Flow. Still feeling like my form is bad during the planks. I definitely need to invest in a mirror. It could be correct and I just feel awkward because I am in terrible shape right now. Who knows? All in all it was a productive workout and I feel good about it. Tomorrow is a rest day so there may not be a new blog. We will see. Happy Thursday all!

17 Days Down, 103 to go!

lmp day 17
Had another good workout tonight. The scheduled workout today was Pump and Burn, it is a 41 minute long DVD but really with intros the workout is 35 minutes long. It starts with  warm-up, moves onto a squat track, then a chest track, legs & back then an ab track followed by the cool down. It certainly is enough of a workout for me. I have a bit before the system has me move up to one of the harder workouts. Probably a good thing so I can work on my form and maybe build a little more strength.

Right now I am starving and craving sweets like a mother (you know the rest) so I think I am going to have some 0% greek yogurt with some fruit and granola. My DH found me some really good granola. It only has a couple of ingredients and the sweeteners in it are clean eating approved. So YAY!

Anyhow I have yogurt to eat before I get testy. Have a good night 🙂

Day 16 of 120 Completed

Okay so I figured out today that I am NOT halfway through Phase 1.  When marking off todays workout on the calendar I noticed that there are 5 weeks in Phase 1 consisting of 36 days. So the halfway point is not until Day 18. So in 2 more days the halfway point will be reached.

LMP DAY 16

Tonight’s workout was another late one. Decided to wait until the kids were in bed. Tonight Mr Baby had no interest in going to bed. It took a few tries. I think he was over-tired from playing so hard and scooting himself across the living room on his tummy a hundred times this evening. He is really moving! Thinking he may be crawling sooner than later.  Soon we need to get some baby proofing done!

On the schedule today was Hard Core Abs as well as a 45 minute walk. During the workout I got the feeling that my form is poor during the plank to push-up portion. It may be time to consider putting a mirror in the workout area of the basement so I can check my form. But all in all it was a good ab workout. The 45 minute walk was replaced with 35 minutes of aerobics. Much more of a workout than a simple walk and I felt like I could do more than just simply walk.

October 12th is the Run Scream Run 5 k, I doubt I will run much of it at all. Getting regular workouts in has been tough enough. My fibromyalgia has been flared up like crazy lately. It may be what is causing my extreme knee pain. I am not exactly sure but I would rather not hurt myself so I will do what i can and just do better the next one I sign up for. Baby steps.

also I broke my own rule of only weighing every month. YIKES! i did not like what I see. Up 6 lbs! it better be water weight from my upcoming “visitor.” Granted I did eat poorly a couple of times this past weekend and had a decent amount of beer but 6 lbs worth? No way! I’m talking 6 lbs above my beginning weight. I am in a wedding next weekend and really can’t fit an extra 6 lbs into my dress albeit from water or from fat.

Day 14 of 120 Completed!

It is a bit late but day 14 is finally finished. We had another busy day! Today we had our family photos taken, I did not want to workout before they were done this evening because I didn’t want to have to rewash and reset my hair beforehand. So when we got home we had a late dinner, got the kids off to bed, then watched Dexter. That was a must it was quite the finale. Very sad, but it wrapped things up really well. After 7 years of watching Dexter it will be strange not to ever have new episodes. Anyhow after watching Dexter I headed down to the basement and completed Day 14’s scheduled workout. Hard Core Abs along with a 45 minute walk. I am officially pooped out and ready for bed!

Oh and I am definitely back on the wagon food wise. Ate clean today and chugged down some extra water. I still always feel thirsty so finding a way to get more water in without feeling like I had too much is a must. Right now I am getting about 80 ounces of water in a day. Why am a still freaking thirsty??

Feeling like Jello on Day 8 of 120

The workout scheduled for today was Pump and Burn. It is a really enjoyable one due to the lack of lunges. Lunges are my mortal enemy along with my undying need for cheesecake. But avoiding cheesecake is easier than avoiding the lunges.  I don’t have to make or buy cheesecake but many of the Les Mills Pump workouts have lunges and I wouldn’t be trying if I skipped them.

After finishing Pump and Burn half of my body feels like Jello. Typing this feels awkward because my arms don’t want to be held up. I guess they go the burn part right 🙂

As of today I decided I need to be more mindful of my water intake. Some days go great and on others it is like I forget to drink. No more of that! I understand the importance of drinking enough water and have blogged about it in the past, should take my own advice. Even if it was something from over a year ago!

Anyhow to sum it up. Good workout today, need to drink more water and it’s time to hop in the shower so I can go to the fitting for my bridesmaid dress.
