Get it together!

So today was not the day for me to get things right. I started out by turning off my alarm and going back to sleep without realizing it until I woke up an hour and 25 minutes later. Of course that gave us 10 minutes until school starts. I rushed and got Emma ready and she was ten minutes late for school today. UGH! The sad part is I remember my alarm, I remember shutting it off and telling myself I will get up in just a second. I really do not like Emma getting to school late. I always feel guilty that she is walking in after everything is started and interrupting her classroom. I am sure it is hard enough to deal with 30 first graders without my causing distractions. Of course in the hurry and get ready rush I forgot to check the school menu and should have sent her in with a cold lunch. My child will not eat nachos, they had good fruit and veggie selections as well as milk and there is always the option of getting a peanut butter sandwich too so she would not starve. But on days where school lunch is questionable or something I know she does not like to eat I send her in with something.

Just about a half hour ago I remembered I had a doctor’s appointment and an appointment with a nurse to watch the info video of sterilization. The first appointment was at 9 and the other right after. So yes, I remembered 5 hours too late. So I am rescheduled for tomorrow and all is fine. The ladies in the office just laughed at me and told me it was common to forget and to chalk it up to pregnancy brain. Either way, it was a big oops on my part.

So hopefully tomorrow goes better!

  1. I know what you mean about being late. And about the lunches…give it time (and multiple kids), the kids will find something to eat. I remember looking and planning when my oldest was in 1st grade. We had the lunch menu on the fridge. Now we just throw the menus away and let the kids eat what ever they can.
